Based in Desborough, Northamptonshire
The Desborough plant has been in operation since 1907 and has a 10 thousand pallet logistic hub. Turnover in 2012 exceeded £30m. Facilities also include new design and technology and state-of-the-art warehousing. It is the Postal Pack centre of excellence for Rigid in the UK and the site has BRC/IOP accreditation.
The successful management and development of the operational function of the business is the main remit for this role. This will involve managing customer expectations, and ensuring that all targets are exceeded, including production output, waste, quality, Health & Safety, hygiene and environmental. In addition, you will make sure that quality products are manufactured efficiently, on time and with minimum wastage.
Your exceptional industry expertise and people management skills will enable you to effectively lead and develop the teams, ensuring that all staff issues are managed efficiently, and that Cell Leaders and their operators are well trained and meet deadlines/targets.
You will have a relevant qualification in either Manufacturing or Engineering, combined with considerable experience of managing a large team within the corrugated packaging industry. Knowledge of, and the ability to instruct others in the use of, relevant machinery (Case Making; MPG and Bobst) is also essential, as are the skills to coach and develop the team.
You will be a natural leader, with exceptional problem solving and decision making skills, together with in-depth industry technical knowledge and the ability to exceed targets within a competitive environment.
